Lariat ethers
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006445
Macrocyclic polyethers that possess one or more side arms containing additional ligating atoms, resembling a lariat (lasso). These side arms are attached to the crown ether ring and can participate in binding guest ions, enhancing the complexation ability and selectivity compared to simple crown ethers. They are used in host-guest chemistry.
