Polymer phase-transfer catalyst

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013419

A polymer that functions as a catalyst to transfer a reactant from one phase to another where the phases are immiscible. The catalytic sites are attached to the polymer backbone, which is typically insoluble in at least one phase, simplifying catalyst recovery after the reaction. Common catalytic groups incorporated into these polymers include quaternary ammonium salts, phosphonium salts, and crown ethers.
