Catalytic cycle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001721
A sequence of elementary reaction steps in which a catalyst participates to facilitate a chemical transformation, regenerating itself at the end of the cycle. This cyclical process allows a small amount of catalyst to convert a large amount of reactant into product. Many industrial chemical processes and biological reactions proceed via catalytic cycles.
