Photocatalysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008809
A catalytic process that involves the absorption of light by a catalyst, leading to the formation of an excited state that then initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction. The catalyst itself is regenerated during the reaction cycle. This process is widely used in environmental applications, such as water purification and air detoxification.
