Infrared

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005835

Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than those of visible light but shorter than those of microwaves. This region of the electromagnetic spectrum extends from approximately 700 nanometers to 1 millimeter. Infrared spectroscopy is a common analytical technique used to identify functional groups in molecules based on their vibrational modes.
