Infrared spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005838

A spectroscopic technique that uses the interaction of infrared radiation with matter to identify and quantify chemical substances. It measures the absorption, emission, or reflection of infrared light by a sample. The resulting spectrum provides information about the vibrational modes of molecules, which are characteristic of specific functional groups.
