Attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000930
A spectroscopic technique that uses attenuated total reflection to obtain infrared spectra of samples, particularly solids, liquids, and pastes, without extensive sample preparation. An infrared beam passes through a high refractive index crystal, and the evanescent wave interacts with the sample in contact with the crystal surface. This method provides surface-sensitive vibrational information.
