pATR spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008546

An infrared absorption spectrum obtained using attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectroscopy, where the sample is in direct contact with an internal reflection element. The evanescent wave penetrates a short distance into the sample, and the resulting absorption is recorded. This technique is particularly effective for analyzing opaque or highly absorbing samples, such as liquids, pastes, and solids, without extensive sample preparation.
