Radiation catalyst
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009819
A substance that, when exposed to ionizing radiation, facilitates or accelerates a chemical reaction without being consumed in the overall process. This material absorbs the radiation energy and transfers it to the reactants, often by forming transient reactive intermediates. Such catalysts are employed in industrial processes like polymerization or wastewater treatment.
