Heterogeneous radiation catalysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005249
A form of radiation catalysis where the catalyst exists in a different phase from the reactants and products. The process involves the acceleration of a chemical reaction by ionizing radiation in the presence of a solid catalyst, which provides a surface for the reaction to occur. This contrasts with homogeneous radiation catalysis, where the catalyst is in the same phase as the reactants.
