Polymer-supported catalyst
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009201
A catalytic species that is chemically bonded to or physically entrapped within an insoluble polymer matrix. This immobilization combines the advantages of homogeneous catalysis (high activity and selectivity) with the practical benefits of heterogeneous catalysis, such as easy separation from the reaction products by filtration. The polymer support is frequently a cross-linked resin, such as polystyrene-divinylbenzene, formed into porous beads.
