Supported liquid membrane
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011615
A separation device consisting of a porous polymeric membrane whose pores are filled with an immiscible liquid, which acts as the selective transport medium. This liquid phase facilitates the selective extraction and transport of target analytes from one aqueous phase to another. The membrane provides mechanical support for the liquid phase, preventing its loss.
