Non-porous membrane

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008045

A type of membrane that separates components based on their solubility and diffusivity within the membrane material, rather than by physical pore size. Transport across these membranes occurs through a solution-diffusion mechanism, where molecules dissolve into the membrane and then diffuse through it. These membranes are often used for gas separation and pervaporation processes.
