Membrane

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007154

A thin, selective barrier that separates two phases and controls the passage of substances between them. In chemistry, membranes can be natural, such as biological cell membranes, or synthetic, used in separation processes like filtration or dialysis. Their selectivity is based on properties such as pore size, charge, or chemical affinity.
