Inert
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005815
Describing a substance that exhibits a low degree of chemical reactivity under specified conditions. An inert compound resists chemical change and does not readily participate in chemical reactions. For example, noble gases are considered inert due to their full valence electron shells, making them unreactive.
