Inert gas

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005817

A gaseous substance that exhibits extremely low chemical reactivity under normal conditions. These gases have a full valence electron shell, making them stable and disinclined to form chemical bonds with other elements. The noble gases, such as helium, neon, and argon, are the most prominent examples of inert gases.
