Plasma gases
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009012
The gases used to generate and sustain a plasma in analytical instruments, typically noble gases like argon or helium. These gases are introduced into a plasma torch or chamber and then ionized by radiofrequency energy or an electric discharge. The choice of gas influences the plasma's characteristics, such as temperature and ionization efficiency.
