Radiofrequency generator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009884
An electronic device that produces alternating current at radiofrequencies. In analytical chemistry, it is a key component in instruments such as inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometers, where it powers the plasma torch. This high-frequency energy sustains the plasma, which atomizes and ionizes samples for elemental analysis.
