Radiofrequency

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009882

A range of frequencies of electromagnetic radiation between the upper end of the audio range and the lower end of the infrared range. This corresponds to the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum from about 3 kilohertz to 300 gigahertz. In analytical spectroscopy, radiofrequency fields are used to manipulate the nuclear spin states of atoms in techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance.
