Incident power

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005757

The radio-frequency power that a generator supplies to the plasma of a source such as an inductively coupled plasma, set in watts at the instrument. The part of it that the plasma does not absorb is the reflected power, so the absorbed power is the incident power minus the reflected power. An argon ICP is typically run at roughly 1 to 1.6 kW.
