Absorbed radiant power density
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000070
The radiant power absorbed by a substance within an infinitesimal volume element, divided by that volume. It describes the rate at which radiant energy is converted into other forms of energy, such as heat or chemical potential energy, at a specific point within a medium undergoing irradiation. This quantity is expressed in units of power per unit volume, with the SI unit being watts per cubic meter (W m⁻³).
