Received radiant flux density

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013484

The radiant flux incident on an infinitesimally small element of a surface, divided by the area of that element. Also known as irradiance, it quantifies the power of electromagnetic radiation received per unit area at a specific point. This quantity is a central concept in spectroscopy and radiometry and is measured in units of watts per square meter (W m⁻²).
