Absorbed radiant density
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000069
The monochromatic radiant power absorbed by a sample, summed over the whole irradiated volume and divided by that volume, so it is a volume-averaged rate of energy absorption. It is found by averaging the product of the local absorption coefficient and the spherical irradiance over the sample. Its units are watts per cubic metre per unit wavelength interval, not joules per cubic metre.
