Absorbed local spectral photon flux density

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000066

The number of photons absorbed per unit time and per unit volume at a given point in an irradiated medium, within a narrow wavelength interval, also called the local volumetric rate of photon absorption. For a collimated beam it equals the Napierian absorption coefficient multiplied by the spectral photon radiance at that point. It is expressed in photons or moles per cubic metre per second per nanometre and is integrated over the wavelength range for polychromatic light.
