Inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005801

An analytical technique that uses an inductively-coupled plasma to ionize a sample, followed by mass spectrometry to separate and detect the resulting ions. The plasma efficiently atomizes and ionizes elements in a sample, allowing for rapid, sensitive, and multi-elemental analysis. It is capable of detecting elements at parts-per-trillion concentrations.
