Permselectivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008677
The property of a membrane or material that allows certain species to pass through more readily than others. This differential transport is based on factors such as size, charge, or chemical affinity. Ion-exchange membranes exhibit permselectivity towards ions of a specific charge, for example, cations over anions.
