Radical ion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009853
A molecular entity that possesses both an unpaired electron and a net electrical charge. These species combine the characteristics of radicals and ions, exhibiting both high reactivity due to the unpaired electron and electrostatic interactions due to the charge. Radical cations and radical anions are common examples.
