Distonic radical cation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003336
A radical cation in which the positive charge and the radical center are located at different, non-adjacent atoms within the molecule. This separation often leads to unique fragmentation pathways and reactivity compared to conventional radical cations where the charge and radical are co-located. These species are frequently observed as intermediates in mass spectrometry.
