Electromembrane extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003698
A microextraction technique that uses an electric field to facilitate the transfer of charged analytes across a liquid membrane, typically supported within the pores of a hydrophobic hollow fiber. The electric potential drives the migration of ions from a donor phase, through the membrane, and into an acceptor phase. This method offers high selectivity and enrichment factors for ionic compounds.
