Hollow-fibre liquid-phase microextraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005341

A microextraction technique where a porous hollow fibre acts as a support for a thin layer of organic solvent, which serves as the extraction phase. The analyte from an aqueous sample diffuses through the fibre wall into the organic solvent, and then often into an acceptor phase inside the fibre. This method offers high enrichment factors and reduced solvent consumption compared to conventional liquid-liquid extraction.
