Solid-phase microextraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011001
A solvent-free sample preparation technique that uses a fused silica fiber coated with an extracting phase to extract analytes from a sample. The fiber is exposed to the sample, and analytes partition between the sample matrix and the coating. After extraction, the fiber is transferred to an analytical instrument for desorption and analysis.
