Matrix-compatible solid-phase microextraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007034
A kind of direct-immersion solid-phase microextraction whose fibre or other coating is built so that it takes up little of the particles and macromolecules present in the sample matrix. A common design covers a sorbent such as C18-modified silica with a biocompatible polymer layer, for instance polyacrylonitrile, which passes small analytes to the sorbent and excludes proteins and cell debris. Typical samples are blood, plasma and food homogenates, into which the coating is dipped directly.
