Headspace solid-phase microextraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005134

A sampling technique where a solid-phase microextraction fiber is exposed to the headspace above a sample to extract volatile analytes. The analytes partition from the sample into the gas phase and then adsorb onto the fiber's coating. This method is often used for environmental and food analysis.
