Solid-phase dynamic extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013565
A variant of solid-phase microextraction in which the sorbent coating lines the inside wall of a hollow needle instead of covering an exposed fiber. The gas or headspace sample is drawn into the needle and pushed out again many times by a gas-tight syringe, and the analytes collect in the coating until they are thermally desorbed into a gas chromatograph. The pumping action, not passive exposure, drives the extraction.
