Solidified floating organic drop microextraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010999
A microextraction technique where a small volume of an organic solvent, which is liquid at room temperature but solidifies at lower temperatures, is used to extract analytes from an aqueous sample. The organic drop is formed and allowed to float on the sample, then cooled to solidify, and finally separated for analysis. This method offers high enrichment factors for trace analysis.
