Solidified floating organic drop

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010998

A microextraction technique where a small drop of an organic solvent, which is liquid at room temperature but solidifies at lower temperatures, is used to extract analytes from an aqueous sample. The organic drop is typically floated on the surface of the aqueous sample, and after extraction, it is cooled to solidify. The solidified drop containing the concentrated analytes can then be easily separated for analysis.
