Drop time
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003437
The interval between the detachment of successive mercury drops from the capillary tip of a dropping mercury electrode. This parameter influences the diffusion layer thickness and the rate of mass transport to the electrode surface. It is measured in seconds and can be controlled by adjusting the mercury reservoir height or using a mechanical drop knocker.
