Ilkovič equation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005587
A mathematical relationship describing the diffusion-limited current at a dropping mercury electrode. It relates the average diffusion current to the concentration of the electroactive species, the diffusion coefficient, the rate of mercury flow, and the drop time. This equation is applied in direct current polarography to quantify analytes in solution.
