Diffusion current constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003196
An empirical quantity in polarography equal to the limiting diffusion current divided by the product of the bulk concentration, the mercury mass flow rate raised to the power two thirds, and the drop time raised to the power one sixth. By the Ilkovic equation, for the average current it equals 607 times the number of electrons times the square root of the diffusion coefficient, so it characterizes the species and does not depend on the capillary.
