Equilibrium constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004057
A quantity that characterizes a chemical reaction's state of equilibrium, representing the ratio of product concentrations to reactant concentrations, each raised to the power of its stoichiometric coefficient. This value indicates the extent to which a reaction will proceed towards completion. The standard equilibrium constant is dimensionless and is related to the standard Gibbs energy of reaction by the equation ΔG° = -RT ln(K).
