Standard reaction quantities
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011304
The changes in enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs energy and similar functions that accompany a reaction carried out between reactants and products that are all in their standard states, with each quantity marked by a superscript circle, as in ΔrH°, ΔrS° and ΔrG°. Tabulated values for them put different reactions on a common footing, and the standard Gibbs energy of reaction is tied to the equilibrium constant by ΔrG° equals minus RT ln K.
