Standard Gibbs energy of activation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011295
The change in Gibbs energy when reactants transform into the activated complex, with all species in their standard states. This thermodynamic quantity determines the rate of a chemical reaction by influencing the concentration of the transition state. It is related to the rate constant through the Eyring equation.
