Gibbs-Duhem equation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004882
A thermodynamic relationship that connects the changes in chemical potential of components within a system at constant temperature and pressure. It states that the sum of the products of the number of moles of each component and the differential of its chemical potential is zero. This equation is derived from the extensivity of the Gibbs free energy.
