Marcus equation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006954

A theoretical expression that describes the rate of electron transfer reactions in terms of the reorganization energy and the Gibbs free energy change of the reaction. This equation predicts a parabolic relationship between the reaction rate and the driving force. It is a cornerstone of electron transfer theory in chemistry.
