Intrinsic barrier
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006025
The energy barrier for a chemical reaction that is independent of the thermodynamic driving force. It represents the activation energy when the reaction is thermoneutral, meaning the reactants and products have equal energy. This concept is particularly relevant in Marcus theory for electron transfer reactions.
