Energy of activation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003926
The minimum amount of energy required for a chemical reaction to occur, representing the energy barrier that reactants must overcome to transform into products. It is the difference in energy between the transition state and the reactants. This value is typically determined experimentally from the temperature dependence of the reaction rate.
