Reaction barrier
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009963
The energy maximum along the minimum energy pathway connecting reactants to products in a chemical reaction. This energy difference, often referred to as the activation energy, must be overcome for the reaction to proceed. The height of the reaction barrier determines the rate of a chemical reaction.
