Entropy of activation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003965
The difference in entropy between the activated complex and the ground state of the reactants, denoted as ΔS‡. This value reflects the change in the degree of order or disorder when reactants form the transition state. A negative value indicates a more ordered transition state relative to the reactants, while a positive value indicates a less ordered one.
