Standard entropy of activation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011290
The change in entropy when reactants transform into the activated complex, with all species in their standard states. This thermodynamic quantity provides insight into the structural and organizational changes that occur during the formation of the transition state. A negative value suggests a more ordered transition state compared to the reactants.
