Adiabatic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000249
Describing a process that occurs without the exchange of heat or mass with the surroundings. In chemical reactions, an adiabatic process implies that all energy changes are contained within the system, leading to temperature changes as a result of the reaction. This condition is often approximated in calorimetry experiments.
